Dr Kym Burgemeister is a Principal and Arup Fellow, located in the Melbourne office. He completed his PhD in acoustics and vibration at the University of Adelaide before joining Arup in Sydney in 1996. Kym specialises in acoustic assessment and design for infrastructure projects, including Wind Farms. He has worked as a technical advisor undertaking statutory audits of wind farm assessments, and helped the Victorian EPA develop guidance for wind farm noise assessment and development of Noise Management Plans. He is the Noise and Vibration Technical Expert for the Infrastructure Sustainability Council of Australia (ISCA) and was a member of the Australian Federal Government’s Independent Scientific Committee on Wind Turbines. He has co-authored several key papers related to the perception and assessment of Wind Turbine sound in Australia.
